Your New Role

  • Overall responsibility for purchasing within the business.
  • Working closely with the Company's Finance Manager.
  • Working with the operational team in the plant to communicate the control environment with regard to purchasing.
  • Building relationships and being the main point of contact with suppliers.
  • You will be working directly with the Directors and the Finance Manager to accurately budget purchasing requirements.
  • Responsibility for analysing the costs and usage- then supplying the Directors and Finance Managers with your findings.
  • Implementing a stock / store management process to ensure that purchases are only made when required and that costs are adequately managed.
  • Responsibility for raising sales invoices.
  • Responsibility for posting sales and purchase invoices onto Sage.
  • Responsibility for sales and purchase account reconciliations, as well as petty cash and credit card reconciliations.


Other duties

  • Involvement in operation of the weighbridge and feedstock reception as and when required. You will need to have good communication with the Weighbrigde staff.
  • Involvement in all aspects of office and reception management during periods of staff absence.


What you'll need to succeed

  • You will need to have experience in a commercial environment likely 5 years at a minimum.(purchasing or sales). Experience in purchasing would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Waste, Energy or related industries (such as engineering / manufacturing) would be an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with ability to provide good insight to the Directors.
  • A strong team player, with a hands-on approach and a willingness to be flexible
