Design & Build Design Manager / Coordinator - Berkshire
Privately owned construction company established over 30 years is looking for a Design Manager to work closely with other teams within the company and primarily be responsible for managing design input on D&B tenders and secured work.
Sectors they work in include social housing, commercial, education and industrial and project values up to GBP8m.
This is a permanent position and key responsibilities will include:
• Helping evaluate tenders and manage the design process.
• Attend relevant meetings.
• Assist with the production of Contractors Proposals.
• Work with the production team on secured projects to close out design and achieve RFC.
• Participate design review meetings.
• Agree external consultant's responsibility matrix, objectives, fees and information release schedule.
• Manage the flow of design information from external consultants and design subcontractors, and ensure the established timescales are achieved.
• Ensure cost effective solutions are incorporated in the design.
• Investigate VE opportunities where required.
• Manage the transfer of design responsibility from estimating to production.
To be considered you must have:
• Proven experience of managing design on multiple projects.
• The ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads
• Good knowledge of the design and build process and good technical knowledge.
• Be a team player with good communication skills.
Salary will be very competitive and commensurate with experience of successful candidate but GBP60k/GBP65k+, plus car allowance and bens package
