We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant for our reputable company .This role would suit someone who wants to work in a small team and be flexible. To be considered for this role applicants must have previous accountancy practice experience. You will have good knowledge of accounts preparation and accounting software ,be able to manage bookkeeping and VAT clients and will be expected to have hands on role to ensure deadlines are met. In addition you will be expected to be proactive with clients on legislation or relevant changes. It is a busy, general practice role which can be developed.

 

 

Duties will include:

 

  • Assisting in the preparation of accounts

  • Dealing with client bookkeeping

  • Preparing and checking ledger balances and other monthly and yearly accounts

  • Completing and submitting tax returns,VAT returns ,wages weekly & monthly & CIS

  • Using computerised accounting system

  • Training clients on Accounts software such as Sage & Xero

  • General office duties such as answering the phone,responding to emails,Filing & post.

 

Skills and Attributes :

 

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a private practice is required

  • Accountant /AAT qualified

  • Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills

  • Be approachable and professional

  • Knowledge of a variety of packages to include Sage,Xero and QuickBooks
