My client is a well-established independent consultancy specialising in Ecology and BREEAM assessments. This company provides comprehensive ecological advice and solutions to customers across the UK belonging to both the public and private sector. This client pride themselves on their cost effective and professional service, as they ensure sustainable solutions to mitigate the environmental impact of development. My client are keen to speak with experienced Ecologists with the ambitions of career progression and development, to join their team and begin work in their Cambridge office.

Requirements

* 2 years' post graduate experience within an environmental or ecological consultancy
* Full CIEEM or the ability to apply for membership
* BSc or equivalent in Ecology, Biology or a related Environmental discipline
* The ability to produce a range of ecological reports and documents
* The ability to use a range of field equipment (e.g. GIS, MS word and Excel)
* A full UK driving license
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Extensive survey experience
* An in depth understanding of UK legislation and planning policy

Ecologists with a Bat/Great Crested Newt Protected Species License would be of particular interest

Responsibilities

* Supporting a wide range of ecological surveys (e.g. GCN, bat, badgers and Phase 1 Habitat)
* Carrying out office-work (e.g. day-to-day data analysis)
* Help devise appropriate mitigation and habitat creation
* Assisting with ecological impact assessments
* Help monitor and train less experienced staff members
* Support business development
