Salary: £32,548 to £36,613 per annum
The University of Bristol’s Residential and Hospitality Services are seeking to appoint a Retail Catering Operations Manager. The post will operate a five days out of seven working pattern, in line with terms and conditions and is fixed term for 1 year.
The Operations Manager is part of the Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS) Management Team and you will be responsible for the operational management of 14 catering units operating as coffee shops, cafés and bars, supporting the wider catering team in developing the business across the University of Bristol’s multi-site catering portfolio, helping to meet the needs students, staff and guests ensuring customer service standards.
The role holder will be responsible for the strategic development, project management, brand and service level development and implementation of all related catering activities, ensuring that an effective high quality of production and service is constantly maintained to all customers, creating a target driven and performance led environment and ensuring the focus of increased income and reduced expenditure.
It is essential that the post holder has an understanding of multi-site retail catering outlets, coffee shops, and vending services to ensure an excellent and consistent service. You should also recognise the importance of sound brand and product consistency and have sympathy with Fair Trade and ethical trading.
You should have proven work experience in the capacity of a retail operations management role within a comparable catering operation and awareness of implementing strategic retail plans and knowledge of ethical, sustainable and local food sourcing. It is essential that you are a Personal License Holder (under the Licensing Act 2005), hold a formal qualification, to at least BTEC or HND standard and have obtained an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
