An exciting opportunity had arisen for a Technician to provide shift cover within the Process Control department at our sites in South Yorkshire. You will work 12 Hours, Shifts or Days, 4 on 5 off & 5 on 4 off. The Process Control department is an established team of professional engineers who undertake an efficient and flexible service focused on business and customer needs on a 24 hour, 7 days per week basis.

As a Process Control Technician you will provide safe and efficient operational services; supporting with the maintenance, quality assurance and development of a wide range of process control equipment and will ensure the organisation continually complies with relevant company and statutory standards and accreditation for customer quality assurances. You will contribute to the team’s continuous improvement of plant and equipment, implementing and identify improvements and designing and implementing new applications or system enhancements. You will maintain asset availability and efficiency through planned and reactive maintenance activities, considering the company asset management framework (CAMF) / statutory responsibilities, plant histories, fault finding techniques, delay analyses and using own knowledge of process, and plant.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within a similar role and will be educated to HNC level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with an electrical based apprenticeship or similar. Working knowledge of the following is advantageous; instrumentation and control, PLC and PC systems and languages, closed circuit TV systems, testing of atmospheres in confined spaces, Process Safety, Quality Standards, Procedure and Auditing inc; ISO9001, TS 16949, AS9100, ISO 17025 and NADCAP.

Our client is welcoming applications from candidates who are enthusiastic about engineering and have a desire to work within a manufacturing environment. You will have knowledge of Electrical Safety, Health and Safety and Environmental legislation, with an awareness of Quality Management Systems and External Auditing Requirements. You will be an excellent problem solver with practical experience in Time Management Systems and must have a full UK Driving Licence with a willingness to work at any site within South Yorkshire.
