A unique opportunity has presented itself to join a well-established contract electronics manufacturer in Hampshire as an Estimator, providing sales support to the current sales team.
You will be joining a company who have built a solid reputation in providing contract manufacturing services for advanced electronic products to a range of technology focused customers,.

Role Summary

Working within the sales team to produce estimations/costings and quotations for manufacturing services to customers in the UK. Supporting and enhancing order engineering and procurement functions along with interfacing with customers on a technical level.

Clear understanding and experience with:

•Manufacturing; either electronic/mechanical/circuit boards
•Electronic components or manufactures part numbers
•Multi-level BOMs
•Issue & revision control of drawings and data
•Reading and understanding dimensioned drawings/data
•Costing models/Costing parameters
•Previous experience in a commercial environment
•Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
•Use of a ERP/MRP system

Your role will be based around supporting the sales staff in a range of commercial related tasks. This will include creating estimations for raw material components, metal work and manufacturing labour costs.

This may commence with a simple spreadsheet applying formulas, through to creating data within an ERP system for subsequent export, manipulation and checking. Labour costs are derived from extracting data, using databases and costing programs.

Creating purchasing BOM's, using import tools and creating purchased part records for cost/delivery/EOQ etc. Estimating and/or raising RFQ's on suppliers for manufactured parts such as PCB's and cable assemblies. Checking and costing components, for fast delivery orders and scheduled contracts, prior to sales order processing.

At various points within the estimation processes it will be necessary to engage with customers to obtain technical RFIs or seek clarification on the aspects or their requirements. Subsequently adding suitable cost factors to complete the quotation/estimate, before providing the sales team/customers with formal quotations, specific terms, costing data, technical datasheets and other related information.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a personable approach, with the ability to communicate and nurture at a commercial level. Engage with customers and suppliers, yet also apply commercial acumen and efficiency to the estimating and quoting process.

The role requires the handling of multiple tasks, working to tight deadlines and delivering concise documented costing/estimates with a high degree of accuracy.

Important Information

Hours per week: 39 (1/2 hour lunch)
Mon-Thursday 8.30 - 5.0 om & Friday until 4 pm - Its often the case that additional hours may need to be worked, due to the business being driven by erratic demand.

The role is based on a 39 hour week. Benefits include company contributed pension scheme, 27 days paid holiday (plus Bank Holidays)

To be considered you will need to be able to commute to Aldershot on a daily basis within 30/40 minutes.
