About the role

We require a reliable and self-motivated individual, with good communication and interpersonal skills, to join our team and help us to provide a welcoming and supportive service to all Library visitors.
As part of our front line team you will be responsible for providing a high quality, customer focused, service across our busy Library and Learning Commons spaces.  You will be expected to engage with library users, support them during their studies, and help to champion improvements to the library facilities.
Whilst primarily based at Newton Park you will be encouraged to work collaboratively with colleagues in campus libraries at Sion Hill and Corsham Court, to take an active role in departmental projects and working groups, and to help us to provide a responsive and ever improving experience for our users.

You will deliver front line services to support students with both physical and digital resources. You will provide support both in person and virtually, demonstrating excellent communication skills, and at the point of need via roving.  The successful candidate will have an excellent customer focus, assisting with a wide range of enquiries, including providing basic IT assistance.

About you (requirements)

You will have recent experience of working with the public and delivering high quality customer services via face to face communication, telephone, and electronically (email, online chat service, etc.). We will expect you to demonstrate excellent communication skills, practical problem solving, and a flexible approach to working.

We are looking for someone with strong team working values and experience, who is organised and committed to their personal professional development. You should be able to work accurately without close supervision. Crucially, you are enthusiastic about delivering excellent customer service and focused on providing the highest level of support to our students and staff.

Unfortunately this post is not available for current Bath Spa students but other opportunities to work in the Library are advertised via the University Job Shop.
