Position: Part time, Permanent (required to work Mon - Sun, regularly working weekends when weddings, functions and viewing days).

We are seeking a long-term employee to join our professional and friendly team and business.

Package: GBP10.25 per hour. Company pension.

Holidays: Approximately 28 days per year pro-rata dependent on hours worked.

General: We are currently looking to train and appoint a motivated, outgoing, professional and hardworking Events Manager to join our family-run wedding and events business.

Bredenbury Court is focused on hosting its first function in early 2019, however we need to an Event Manager in role shortly and there will be a great deal to accomplish over the next 12-18 months prior to the first official function. The family business already run a well regarding and successful venue in Northamptonshire (where most events management training occurs) and the applicant must be prepared to travel to undergo initial (and any ongoing) training/refresher courses. The Northamptonshire venue has won several awards and has a great events team.

Hours: At least two office days 8-9 hrs per day prior to the venue opening to host functions; thus approx. 16 hrs/week to start.

Hours will increase once functions begin (typically 16 hr per function day).

Additional functions and hours are very likely to be available as the words spread and business grows.

Candidate must be willing to travel to Northamptonshire to undergo full training for the position.

Job Details:

The Event Manager has a great deal of responsibility & is involved in a broad range of business lines including advertising & marketing, sales, operations, facilities management, planning & the core event management itself.
Whilst proven skills in a similar position are preferable, we ensure comprehensive in-house training and shadowing so previous experience is not essential.
Sales & Marketing responsibilities including meeting with prospective clients and showing them the venue.
Booking of events, subsequent event & wedding planning support and coordination.
Full Event Management including full set up and administration prior to event occurring, ensuring event runs smoothly and ensuring professional take down.
Assistance in the setting up of wedding receptions and corporate functions in line with clients individual requirements.
Personal Profile:
Excellent level of both spoken English and written English
Outgoing personality, interested and enthusiastic (whilst also a good listener) with good telephone and client meeting manner.
The Event Manager will be an organised and methodical person, who is physically fit and able to move furniture (e.g. dining chairs/tables).
Ability to work under pressure on ones own, use initiative, have ample stamina and deliver outstanding service to clients over the whole course of a wedding day and onward evening celebration.
Ability to work within a team as required.
Managerial qualities to lead or influence others whilst also being prepared to roll sleeves up where necessary and get involved
The Event Manager will have great client service skills and will be a confident ambassador of the venue.
Strong IT skills are essential (Outlook, Word, Excel) with accurate keyboard skills & sound numeracy
