GreenSquare Group is a significant housing association providing a wide range of homes and services across the region. The service provides community based support to residents in Gloucester, Tewkesbury and the Forest of Dean. The service supports clients to achieve and maintain independence with regard to their housing needs and to improve their quality of life.

We are looking for Support Workers to join our team in Gloucestershire.  You will need to have experience in support work, preferably within a housing background with a clear understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people.

Staff will receive and process referrals on behalf of vulnerable adults, carry out an assessment of their needs and develop a support plan to address them, in conjunction with the client. Support will include acting as the first point of contact for clients to achieve a secure housing environment, reduce social isolation and promote integration into the community. Support Workers will also co-ordinate the activities of Support Assistants and will act as a resource for the team in respect of specialist areas.

Candidates will need to have a relevant professional qualification in housing or social work, or equivalent experience, and demonstrable experience of providing a high quality, client-focussed service to vulnerable people. Experience of working with welfare and similar legislation, supporting clients to complete complex forms and also working with agencies are essential. A flexible, responsive and solutions-focussed approach to service provision, including working hours and duties, is required and candidates must have access to their own transport. An understanding of housing options, best practice and an appreciation of issues around substance and domestic abuse, ASB and child protection would be an advantageous, as would a working knowledge of community languages.
