Job Title: Democratic Services Officer
Location: Riverside, Lowestoft
Salary: £27,358 - £29,909 pa
Hours: 37 hours per week

The Council currently have an exciting opportunity for a Democratic Services officer to join their busy team, if you have experience in the administration of meetings and in taking minutes, then this could be the job for you.
The primary duties are to assist in the delivery of an effective Democratic Service that meets statutory requirements for the decision-making processes operational within the Council, to support Members of the Council and the undertaking of any associated administration tasks.
You will be working as part of a team but achieving individual goals. Ideally, you should have experience in local government or other public administrations. You will need to have an understanding of the principles and procedures of meetings, together with excellent organisational and administrative skills, IT literacy, high levels of accuracy, as well as good verbal and written English skills.
A valid driving licence and the ability to work some evenings are essential.
Please note that there are two posts at the Democratic Service Officer level and in order to provide future resilience, the roles and responsibilities of these two posts will be periodically interchanged. In accordance with the provisions of the Local Government & Housing Act 1989, this post is politically restricted.
