This is an exciting opportunity to join Coram Voice as our Independent Visitor Co-ordinator in Swindon. The Independent Visitors (IV) Service is for children and young people in care.  The responsible authority has a duty to appoint an IV where it appears to be in the child’s interest to do so. The purpose of the IVs, who are volunteers, is to provide a continuous relationship for a child or young person, to advise and befriend, spending time with a young person on a regular basis encouraging them to express their views and opinions and involve themselves in new activities.

The IV Co-ordinator will assist the Project Manager in the delivery of the service maintaining high standards and ensuring that contractual requirements are met. They will also assist in the recruitment, training and provision of supervision to Independent Visitors.

We are seeking candidates who are committed to our objectives for children and young people and equally committed to the organisation and the development of our services.

Join us as we work to transform the lives of children and young people by supporting them to uphold their rights and actively participate in shaping their lives.

Coram Voice is part of the Coram group of charities which develops, delivers and promotes best practice in the support of children and young

Coram Voice particularly welcomes applications from care leavers or individuals with experience of being ‘looked after’ by the state. We are also actively encouraging applicants from Asian, African, Caribbean and other minority ethnic backgrounds to join our teams. Whilst we have a diverse team we recognise we are a predominantly white workforce and are genuinely committed to encouraging candidates from diverse communities in order to improve the services to the children and young people we help.
