A development opportunity to work as an assistant software developer within Keele CTU under the direction and guidance of the Database & Software Systems Development Officer, to play a fundamental part in supporting, developing, testing and modifying IT systems related to managing a variety of interesting and challenging research studies within strict timelines.
This post represents an exciting development opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a team within Keele CTU who are responsible for the delivery of software systems to support study delivery to time and target. You will support SQL server databases, Visual Basic Applications (VBA) and Web based applications for the CTU. In addition, you will play a fundamental part in supporting, developing, testing and modifying IT systems related to projects within strict timelines to assist in the management of these studies for research.
You will have a BTEC diploma or equivalent qualification in an IT related subject or equivalent work experience. In addition, you will have experience of developing small scale software packages, experience of data-driven software development, along with experience of rigorous testing methodologies and documentation practices. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Working knowledge of SQL applied under common RDBMS including SQL Server and an awareness of, or willingness to learn C#, ASP.NET, Visual Studio are also crucial for the role.
