My client based in Cambridge is seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk
Salary: Up to GBP18500.00
Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.
Purpose of Role:
o Control and upkeep of the Purchase Ledger account.
o Maintenance and control of various accounting schedules.
o Manage the registered invoice volume on a daily basis.
o Monthly BACS payments relating to suppliers and expenses.
o Assisting with payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
o Maintaining ongoing relationship with suppliers.
o Scanning and registering all invoices received on a daily basis to the respected employee for authorisation.
o Passing and coding all authorised invoices on a daily basis
o Reconciling statements.
o General ledger coding.
o Maintaining the invoice register and chasing individual employees when necessary.
o Initiating and following up invoice queries which will involve liaising internally and with external suppliers.
o Monthly / Weekly BACS payments to suppliers / employees expenses and petty cash.
o Filing invoices / expenses, photocopying and dispatch of cheques.
o Report printing / maintenance of the phone / fuel / tax and any other schedules that may be considered to fall within the remit of the Purchase Ledger Clerk post.
o Liaising with the bank on standing order and other payment amendments.
o Assisting payroll with inputting and checking engineer weekly timesheets.
o General ad-hoc payroll.
Competencies:
o Excellent administration and organisational skills.
o Be able to work within a high pressure environment.
o Team player with ability to support to others and contribute to creating an open and productive working environment.
o Self disciplined and motivated.
o Excellent customer service attitude and communication skills.
o Intermediate knowledge of Excel and other MS Office packages
o Experience of the Kerridge system would be a great advantage
