Research Officer (Fish Welfare)
Compassion in World Farming is a fast-growing and influential campaigning charity with decades of experience fighting factory farming: our award-winning undercover investigations have exposed the ugly realities of factory farms; our political lobbying and campaigns have improved the living conditions for factory farmed animals across Europe; our Food Business team is working with some of the world's biggest food companies - retailers, producers and manufacturers - to drive humane-sustainable innovation.
Position: Research Officer Fish Welfare
Location: Godalming, Surrey
Job Type: Full Time, 12 months Fixed Term Contract
Hours: Flexible options considered, minimum 4 days a week
Salary: GBPCompetitive depending on experience
Closing date: Sunday, 1st July 2018
About the role:
Do you want to help end factory farming? Are you a creative and dynamic person able to work in a reactive manner, and to tight deadlines? Enjoy working with a team? We may have a job for you.
The Research Officer will develop research and information-based resources on fish welfare issues for diverse audiences and contribute to the organisation's fish welfare campaigns, liaise with associated consultants, as directed by the Fish Policy and Research Manager and in accordance with Compassion's strategic goals.
You will liaise with associated consultants and attend conferences, events, meetings to collect information relevant for the food business work, as well as to liaise with new and existing contacts. You will also advocate the case for dismantling factory farming to agreed academic and technical bodies.
About you:
If you have a passion for research and knowledge of fish welfare, animal welfare, aquaculture or marine environment protection and most importantly, the drive and passion to work on a newly established project then we would like to hear from you.
We are looking for a person who would help us with developing our scientific reports and contribute to our assets on fish welfare.
