Search HR are working exclusively with a global logistics and supply chain organisation who are working with an equality eye wateringly large global brand. Due to growth they are opening a brand new 180,000 sq ft. distribution centre in Coventry and are looking for an experienced, pro-active and pragmatic HR generalist to join them and lead on all people aspects for the site.
Your first order of the day will be ??? to help get the site operationally read to 'go-live' on 1st October. A tall order perhaps - not for someone positive, proactive and with a can-do attitude. Supported by an experienced Management team and with an Interim HR Project Manager in your corner, you'll approach this with Usain Bolt like confidence as he steps up to the track.
Your role will include a fair amount of work supporting recruitment, especially initially. That will mean liaising with Search for all temporary staffing needs but also ensuring staff who do transfer into you employment have all they need and vice versa. Compliance and RTW documents will be high on your agenda as well as generating offer letters and contracts. On-boarding will be key too, especially as employee engagement will start with you at the on-boarding process.
Day to day you can expect to support managers on all aspects of ER. This could include coaching and mentoring a manager through a process or policy, or may require you to step in and personally handle more complex or sensitive issues. With a large and growing population, you can expect issues on absence, sickness and capability to be part of what you support on.
Raising managers' capability will also be a key part of this role. Many managers, like yourself, will be new the organisation and as such it'll be part of your role to he embed in them company values, employee engagement tools and HR training to enable them, ultimately, to become more self sufficient.
To be successful in this role you'll be an experienced HR generalist who is happy to operate autonomously. It's likely you'll have support from a HR Administrator onsite but otherwise you'll need to be happy getting involved in all aspects and levels of HR, Recruitment & Training. Experience from a similar sector or industry would be preferred and would prove useful. CIPD would be a benefit too.
If you a looking for a challenging new role where you'll get to be a part of something brand new and positive for Coventry almost from day one, then this could be the role you are looking for. For more information call Mark Dayman on (Apply online only) or email
Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
