One of the UKs largest Care & Education providers are now recruiting for Senior Support Worker for their Residential Care Homes in Tavistock, Devon and East Cornwall. You will mainly support 8 - 18 year olds who have learning disabilities, autism and will display challenging behaviour (some are physically challenging).
Main Job Role:
- Help with shift covers, rota's and co-ordinate the shifts
- Assist the children with budgeting their finances
- Help update risk assessments, health & safety checks, care and support plans
- Help mentor, support and run the staff teams
- Some aspects of personal care will be required
Qualifying candidates:
- Must have previous senior / team leader experience or someone who has temporarily stepped into these roles
- Must have your own transport due to location (limited public transport available)
- To get the higher end of the salary, you MUST have a qualification to work in children residential care home. We accept the following qualifications: Diploma / NVQ / QCF level 3 in:
* Children & Young People's Workforce
* Health & Social Care in Children
* Health & Social Care in Social Care Pathway
* Caring for children & young people
* Residential childcare
WE DO NOT accept Health and social care in Adults.
Contract / terms:
- Salary is £16,967 - £26,322 per annum = £10 - £11 an hour
- Full time (37 - 45 hours a week) Mondays to Friday plus alternative weekends
- We have term time only (39 weeks) and all year round (52 weeks) per year
- Shifts patterns are: 7:30am - 2:30pm, 2:30pm - 10:30pm and you can do long shifts 7:30am - 10:30pm
- Sleepins are optional which are paid at £35 per sleep
