A well established and reputable organisation is looking for a Waking Night Support Worker for their residential children home in Thornbury, Bristol. You will be working with children between the age of 6 - 19 year olds who have special educational needs (SEN), Autism, OCD, epilepsy and will display challenging behaviour.

Main Job Role:

  • Acting as a professional parent and role model
  • Support children with morning and bedtime routines
  • Cleaning and prep through the night
  • Being on hand if children wake up
  • Paperwork / admin duties
  • Ensuring safety and wellbeing of children throughout the night
  • The company believes in Positive Behaviour Management (PBM) and therapeutic approach like team teach 2 and MAPPA
  • Full personal care required from bathing, grooming and getting dressed etc

Qualifying candidates:

  • Must have previous experience in challenging behaviour or EBD / attachment disorder

Contract / terms:

  • Salary is £17,500 - £20,000 per annum = £10 - £11 an hour
  • Full time (39 hours a week) Mondays to Friday plus alternative weekends
  • Shifts patterns are 8:30pm - 7:30am on weekdays and may include some weekends from 8:30pm - 8:00am
  • You will work 44 week out of 52 weeks per years


  • Full training & induction with in-house training on intervention
  • Chance to complete a free NVQ / QCF qualification whilst you work
