Children & Young People Support Worker (Car Drivers Only)

One of the largest Children Services are now recruiting for Residential Support Workers for 2 of their 2 bed Childrens home in Amesbury, Wiltshire. You will be supporting Children & Young People between the age of 8 - 17 year olds who mainly have EBD due to sexual exploitation or traumatic / neglected backgrounds but may also have Mental Health, mild Learning Disabilities and will display challenging behaviour (physical and verbal).

Main Job Role:

• This is a professional parental role offering therapeutic / emotional support
• Work together in a team to help get them up in the mornings to putting them to bed at night
• Get involved in preparing & helping them with meals (Breakfast, dinner and lunch)
• Support them out in the community
• Get stuck in with their daily 121 / group activities - bowling, going for a walk, education activities...
• No personal care

Qualifying candidates:

• Have life, paid, personal or voluntary experience in care (any sector / setting)
• Must have a manual driving license (company car available to use if required)
• Candidates must be 22 years old or over
• To get the higher end of the salary, you MUST have a qualification to work in children residential care home.

We accept the following qualifications: Diploma / NVQ / QCF level 3 in:

• Children & Young People's Workforce
• Health & Social Care in Children
• Health & Social Care in Social Care Pathway
• Caring for Children & Young People
• Residential Childcare

WE DO NOT accept Health and Social Care in Adults.

Contract / Terms:

• Salary including sleeps is £22,636 - £23,581 per annum = £8 - £8 an hour
• Level 3 qualified candidates will be on £16,065 base salary per annum (£8 an hour)
• Unqualified candidates will be on £15,120 base salary per annum (£8 an hour)
• Sleep-ins are paid at £62 per sleep = £7,516 per annum
• You will work 10 shifts per month of 2 days on and 4 days off
• 2 shift patterns (31 hours work and 17 hours sleep):
• Shift 1) 8am - 10:30pm (sleep) 7am - 10:30pm (sleep) 7am - 8:30am
• Shift 2) 10am - 10:30pm (sleep) 7am - 10:30pm (sleep) 7am - 10:30am
