Life Opportunities Trust (LOT) offers high-quality housing and support to people with disabilities, learning disabilities and Alzheimer’s, enabling them to achieve greater independence and control over their own lives. 

Whether we are supporting people in their own homes or providing long-term care and accommodation, our whole ethos is about responding to the individual needs of our service users. 

We are hugely proud of the professional, caring support we provide and our aim of helping people to live their own lives in their own way. We support more than 110 people across London and the northern Home Counties – from young people in their 20s to older people in their 80s and 90s. 

Now, we are seeking an Executive Director to drive the charity through our next phase of growth and development.

Your Role  

As the Executive Director, you’ll oversee LOT’s long-term strategy and ensure our ongoing successful growth.  

In this important role, you will develop clear, innovative and ambitious strategic plans while driving operational efficiencies and improvements throughout the organisation.  

You will engage with people at all levels across the care and support community to raise awareness of our cause and generate income for the charity.  

Additionally, you will:  

- Inspire your team and ensure they receive the training they need to excel  
- Make sure that LOT meets the expectations of the Board and Funders  
- Carry out business development activities to secure funding and increase the charity’s income  
- Monitor and ensure effective ongoing budgetary control within the organisation  
- Ensure that LOT operates in-line with industry regulations  
- Represent LOT at events and lead PR and marketing initiatives  
- Occasionally travel to visit our other sites  

About You  

To join us as our Executive Director, you will need:  

- A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior management role
- Hands-on experience of operating at board level  
- A background in social care  
- Experience, knowledge and an awareness of learning disabilities  
- Previous experience of finance, contract negotiation and regulatory compliance  
- The ability to inspire and motivate others  
- An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to quickly turn ideas into reality 
- A full, valid driving licence

We are also eager to hear from individuals who have worked as a Senior Social Care Manager, Head of Care, Head of Social Care or Healthcare Operations Manager.
