The Reach Data Unit is the UK's biggest dedicated data journalism team, providing news and interactive content for national, regional and local news sites and newspapers across the UK. We are looking for acoder/developer to join the award-winning team based in Manchester. This team produces a wide range of content on everything from crime and education to football and the weather.

Key Responsibilities

    Partner with journalists and designers to imagine, create and build interactive and gadgets for some of the biggest national and regional news websites in the countryFront-end experience with JavaScript, jQuery and HTML/CSSAble to manipulate data with an excellent grasp of datasets and datafeeds, such as API and XMLYou'll be committed to helping our data journalists create personal, original and compelling interactives that allow our readers to explore and navigate important information that affects their lives and communities

The Ideal Candidate

This is a great opportunity for a talented developer to showcase their skills to a huge audience. You will be working with a high-profile, multi-award winning, and a hugely passionate team of journalists, coders and graphic designers who set new standards in interactive storytelling.

Experience with PHP and MySQL is useful, too, as is a working knowledge of Photoshop and experience in cross-browser/device development.
