ICT Application Support Officer

£24,657 - £29,055 P.A.

In this role you will work within the ICT Service providing desk side and application support for the Council’s software and ICT requirements including support for corporate systems, including the Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) database.

Alongside this, you will liaise effectively with the Council’s internal help desk and external helpdesks. You will support the Service and Support Team Leader with the street naming and numbering function, and assist them to maintain and develop property systems for the LLPG function. You will also act as the GIS Officer alongside the other ICT Application Support Officer.

You will provide guidance, support and development for application users to ensure that the business application systems supported by the ICT Service are maintained to the highest possible standard.

You will demonstrate sound working knowledge of Windows Operating system, Microsoft Office, GIS Systems, LLPG and good understanding of VOIP Telephone systems. Excellent communication skills are required in order to explain technical issues to non-technical staff and deliver user training, as well as analytical skills in order to solve problems presented by users at various levels. The successful candidate will have good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

You will have 2-3 years’ experience working in an ICT environment planning, installing, maintaining and supporting business applications, have a recognised qualification to degree level or equivalent in an IT related discipline and experience of GIS theory and application.
