We have 2 exciting opportunities at West Suffolk Councils to become a Park Gardener/Ranger joining our team based at Abbey Gardens. The role is on an annualised hours basis working 1929 hours per year on a set rota. In return, you will receive a competitive starting salary of £17,972 per annum plus an excellent benefits package (salary potentially rising to £21,074 through annual Performance Review awards).

The Park Gardener/Ranger role
We are seeking two enthusiastic individuals to work in the prestigious Abbey Gardens located in Bury St Edmunds, a beautiful and popular market town with a vibrant shopping centre. This award winning park has achieved regular success in the Britain in Bloom and Green Flag award competitions. The gardens host a range of events throughout the year including the Christmas Fayre, fireworks display, outdoor theatrical performances and music.
The Park Gardener/Ranger role is varied and will involve undertaking a wide range of horticultural work in the gardens, working with friends and volunteer groups and carrying out patrols and site security.
As our Park Gardener/Ranger you will be working some unsociable hours and lone working so a flexible approach to working arrangements is essential. An enthusiastic approach and willingness to learn is desirable.
