Nottinghamshire County Council Building Cleaning Service in conjunction with Gotham Primary School requires a new Caretaker. You will be required to clean and maintain the building and offer a range of caretaking services for the benefit of pupils, parents and staff.

Gotham is a small village close to the Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire borders. (Approx.10min drive from Clifton)

The school was moved to a new building in 2006. This new school creates a positive environment in which we deliver high standards in teaching and learning.

The part played by our new caretaker will be key in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in our building and grounds, and we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to looking after our building. We are a friendly and inclusive staff who view all members of our workforce as equal, each with an important contribution to make to our team.

Working a split shift you will be a key holder and will be expected to deliver the full range of caretaking, maintenance, janitorial and cleaning duties, with responsibility for securing the site. You should have a keen eye for detail and be able to demonstrate a practical knowledge of DIY skills.

You will need to be smart in appearance, wearing a provided uniform and need to be flexible in your approach to lettings, for which additional payments will be made. We would want you to work positively with staff and parents and be a good team worker.

Previous experience of this type of work would be advantageous but ideally we are looking for someone with interest and a high degree of commitment to ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff, children and visitors to the school.

We are committed to protecting the well-being of children following the ‘Safer Recruiting’ procedures when making appointments and therefore this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical and satisfactory references.

Closing date: 20 June 2018

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview.  A job share scheme is available for all full time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
