We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Controller for growing consumer / retail business in Harrogate, West Yorkshire, with consistent growth over the last three years the business is seeking to grow their markets globally and the post of Logistics Controller will help support this.
Key Responsibilities:
•The role will take a proactive lead with the Import of goods and Exporting packages to distribution sites, hub and customers.
•The role will work closely with internal department such as; purchasing, marketing, IT, sales team and 3rd party couriers, haulage and freight forwarders.
•The post will coordinate packing and ensure that shipping deadlines are met across multiple locations
•Liaise with our logistics partners to obtain shipping quotes, delivery status and shipping documentation
•Monitor and maintain multiple stock inventory and inbound goods for all sites
•Data input into MRP management systems and the updating of spreadsheets
•Problem resolution regarding shipments and coordinating customer returns
•Ensure great communication with our operations department and keeping a close eye on logistical data via our platforms.
Candidate requirements:
•Solid knowledge and experience of the logistics process. (Minimum of 1 year in logistics coordination or a similar role)
•Advanced Excel skills
•Highly organised with attention to detail
•Ability to work independently and manage workload
•Excellent spoken and written English
•Excellent communication and people skills
•Ability to build and maintain strong, long-lasting business relationships
•Hard working and efficient
•Calm under pressure
Desirable Experience with:
•All forms of freight and logistics
•Import and export documentation
•Retail order fulfilment planning
•E-Commerce order fulfilment
•Inventory control planning and reporting
•IT skills (Including cloud-based systems, Excel and freight systems)
•Degree in logistics / supply chain management (desirable)
•Candidates looking for flexible hours of working, particularly into UK evening times, will also be considereD
•Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred
