Lead Creative Stylist " Still Life Studio

The Lead Creative Stylist will be responsible for supporting the Creative Manager with the styling direction for still life and unrecognisable model imagery. Creating and delivering the strongest visual aesthetic across all areas of responsibility to ensure the imagery produced is of the highest standard and delivered in line with the ASOS brand identity, with the 20-something customer at the forefront.

The role requires a focused, driven and hardworking individual. You must be able to remain calm and professional in pressured situations while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude. This role demands a team player who can grasp new information quickly and use it to execute shoots which inspire and lead the Styling team. You will also be flexible and have the ability to think outside the box and bring new ideas to the team, leading by example. It is vital that you are passionate about fashion, styling and photography and that you have a solid understanding of current trends and how they relate to the ASOS customer.

What youll be doing

  • Continually drive and progress the aesthetic of ASOS Studios imagery, to be the best in the industry
  • Provide strong, clear and aspirational creative guidance to styling team
  • Consistent research and understanding of shows, new trends, street style and social movements, to stay inspired and bring the freshest approach to shoots
  • Complete understanding of the ASOS styling segments and all elements required in order for Styling Team to execute them
  • Build solid relationships with Retail teams, particularly at Head Of and Buyer level, in order to understand buying strategy, industry and design trends and how the product will transpire throughout the season
  • Solid and up to date understanding of upcoming product ranges from Retail, including shoot direction, sales analysis, reshoots and model analysis. Communication of this information back to styling teams
  • Support Retail to drive sales by addressing and improving performance in struggling areas
  • Complete understanding of wider ASOS brand purpose and strategy, and how this reflects in your area
  • Close relationship with the Buy The Look team to ensure you have the newest, most aspirational styling product
  • Maintain constant awareness of competitors to ensure ASOS Studios imagery is always ahead of the curve
  • Consistent delivery of authentic and aspirational shoots. Aligned to brief, customer segments and target market
  • Continually developing and progressing ASOS Studios imagery to be the best in the market
  • Successful guidance of styling team to ensure shoots are delivered to agreed standard and in line with department KPIs
  • Constantly demonstrate awareness of how ASOS product imagery impacts sales in order to make changes which maximise sales and minimise returns


Wed love to meet someone with

  • Proven previous experience in a similar high level role within E-commerce, fashion brand, fashion publication etc.
  • Substantial portfolio of work demonstrating exceptional styling skills in all disciplines required
  • Relevant fashion and still life styling experience essential
  • Experience delivering exceptional styling across a high volume of product in line with department KPIs
  • General knowledge of photography, lighting and studio practice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and an ability to build strong relationships throughout the business
  • Strong eye for detail whilst working quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to stay calm in a fast paced environment, remain proactive and professional and adapt to rapid change
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills
  • Be a strong team player who can lead by example
  • Understanding of current catwalk trends and how these relate to the ASOS customer
  • Relevant fashion industry experience
  • PC and Mac literate with working knowledge of, Outlook, Excel and full Adobe Creative Suite


The Team

The Still Life team are responsible for shooting product imagery for all accessories and non-clothing on the ASOS.com website, as well as unrecognisable model shots and hand model imagery for beauty categories. With over 400 products passing through the stills studio every day the pace is fast and the imagery constantly evolving. Not having a physical store means the team work to represent each product as accurately as possible, ensuring what the customer receives is exactly what theyve seen on site.
