AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Deputy Director of Operational Readiness for employment in the New York, NY office. The position plays a principal role in MTA's management of the ESA operational readiness effort prior to Project turnover to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR). Specifically ESA is an $11 Billion Mega Project that connects the LIRR through new tunnels and a Terminal beneath Grand Central, on the East Side of Manhattan. The candidate, through effective management of Rail Activation Plan will participate in Project initiatives originating within and directed by the Facility Operations & Passenger Experience program team; oversight over the Asset Management group and other support and assistance to the Director. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: * Directly assists in operations planning to support the responsibilities/of the ESA Operational Readiness team and interagency liaison to the LIRR and Metro North (MNR) Railroad's * Ensuring a quality passenger experience for LIRR and MTA- in the development of ESA customer-related operational considerations, and during ESA construction when such construction directly impacts existing customers and operations * Monitoring the performance of the ESA Asset Management unit * Overseeing the coordination required for the development of the ESA Data * Warehouse * Providing technical assistance and support in the safety and security certification of all ESA contracts, where * appropriate * Taking the lead with establishing an ESA tunnel vent coordination management with * New York City Transit (NYCT) and Long Island Railroad (LIRR) * Coordinating across multiple LIRRIESA/MNR Task Planning/Operations Groups * Providing assistance to and supervises work activity of embedded inter-agency (MTA Capital Construction; LIRR; MNR) OpR staff, as necessary Providing technical assistance and support in the management and implementation of the Rail Activation Plan for the East Side Access project; this includes: * Providing quality control for all ESA OpR output and deliverables * Work closely with ESA construction management and Design teams * Bachelor's degree in Transportation Management, Planning or related field * 5+ years' progressively responsible management experience in a rail transit * Thorough understanding of railroad systems and operations * Must be able to interact with Senior Agency personnel and across multiple Railroads and stakeholders groups * Thorough understanding of quality customer service delivery in a transportation and facilities management environment * Excellent writing and verbal communications abilities are required * Strong writing and verbal communications abilities are an absolute must * Strong MS-Office skills Preferred Qualifications * 10+ years of experience * Understanding of databases a plus * PeopleSoft experience is desired * Passenger railroad environment preferred * Experience in governmental affairs, public administration or public relations preferred * Understanding of databases a plus Share * Facebook * Twitter * LinkedIn * Google+ Apply AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
