We are looking for an individual who possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to pay attention to detail in a fast paced environment. Experience of using database and word processing systems and the ability to gather information and record it accurately is essential.

The role supports the work of the Unit with gathering information and clerical assistance. This can include the initial vetting and screening of applications received by the Unit, assisting with investigations and surveys, collating information for reports complied by the department. Dealing with incoming calls, emails and letters that the unit receives, this can involve collecting information from callers about claims management companies (CMCs) to support our enforcement work, offering advice to consumers and capturing information. The post may also assist in the process of auditing Claims Management Companies.

Key Accountabilities:

* To give technical and clerical assistance to Claims Management Officers and other staff in the performance of their duties
* To collate relevant information to support officers in their investigations
* To assist with investigations, exercises, surveys or research and in the compilation of results
* To assist with the initial vetting and screening of applications for authorisation
* To provide administrative assistance and support to officers and teams including assistance in the production of reports and statistical summaries
* To assist in the collation of information both statistical and narrative for the completion of return and reports identifying non compliance issues
* To maintain records in accordance with the CMRU policies and quality procedures
* To assist with routine office, logistical and administration duties
* To undertake and participate in the in-service training
* Undertake any other duties which are commensurate with the grade of the post
* The post may involve working away from the office.

Qualifications/Professional membership

* 4 GCSE passes or equivalent inc grade c or above English and Mathematics

Knowledge and Experience

* Information gathering
* Record keeping in line with office procedures, systems and equipment
* Experience of MS Office and working knowledge of MS Excel
* Experience in using computer based information system
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Understanding of the Claims Management Regulation Unit

* Working within a team, preferably in an office environment
* Able to carry out physical duties
* Time management skills with an ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
