BS Social Care in Hammersmith is looking for a Support Worker who can match our passion for delivering fantastic service to our client based in Hillingdon. The candidate must have experience providing support to young people with mental Health, Emotional behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviours in a semi independent setting.
The role of the Support Worker will be to assist the Team Leader and other senior staff in providing the young people personalised support. The support will include needs assessments, risk assessments and support planning to enable the young person to gain life skills, manage their tenancies, access employment and training and obtain move on accommodation.
Your duties will be :
- To draw up and carry out any tasks and implement an agreed support plan with the client to assist in working towards desired goals. To encourage clients to take up employment, education and training and other meaningful activities.To work with clients to ensure they maximise their income through claiming the appropriate benefits, and that they manage their rent and service charge payments in order to prevent rent arrears.Assist with the provision of mediation services to young people and their families where appropriate.To enable clients to make maximum use of available resources and services within the local community.To work on a rota basis, including sleeping in, to ensure the service has full staff cover at all timesCollecting rents and other charges to meet set targets whilst regularly monitoring rent accounts in accordance with policies and procedures. Provide weekly written rent reports. Provide outreach to clients that have moved on for a minimum of three months.Deal, investigate and resolve tenants complaints.Liaison with the maintenance department regarding repairs ensuring that properties are maintained to a high standard. To carry out regular health and safety checks and provide feedback to the client.
You will need to have :
- At least 1 year of experience working with young people in a housing, care services, community development or related field.Understanding of the needs and difficulties faced by young people.Computer literacy including the ability to use a range of office software packages as well as the central database.Establishment and maintenance of accurate up to date information systems both manual and computerised.Good time management and organisational skills.Flexibility of working hours to meet deadlines when appropriate.Prepared to work on a rota basis providing evening, weekend and sleep in cover.
