Reach is looking to appoint a Data Protection Specialist which will be based here within our Canary Wharf Head Office. The successful candidate will step into this newly created role and will be an integral part in driving GDPR and Data Protection initiatives across our entire business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact with line of business data protection champions
  • Provide advice and guidance on how to comply with the company data protection policies and guidance
  • Maintaining a corporate data protection advice wiki
  • Performing regular reviews of data protection compliance with line of business teams.
  • Participate in meetings with managers to ensure privacy by design at all levels
  • Monitor legislative and ICO guidance on GDPR and Data Protection in general and advice the Data Protection Steering group on operational changes to policy and process
  • Arrange training for Data Protection compliance
  • Liaise with legal and interdepartmental on data protection matters.
  • Assist line of business data protection champions with Data Privacy Impact Assessments

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of managing customer data in a commercial environment
  • Familiarity with computer security systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ethical, with the ability to remain impartial and report all areas of potential non compliance
  • Organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, ideally with experience of working across all levels of a business, to director level
