Fab Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Functional Skills gcse Tutor to provide teaching, learning and assessment to all learners, raising of standards in accordance with Business Goals and ensuring that all learners reach their full potential.

Candidates must have;

• A recognised Teaching Qualification - PGCE or Cert Ed
• Have 2 years' experience of delivering Functional Skills in English or Maths
• Have experience of roll on / roll off provision
• Functional skills Math Tutor
• Subject specialism would be desirable/not essential

Main Responsibilities:
• To deliver high quality and innovative teaching and learning sessions that engage with learners and meet their individual learning needs.

• Provide rigorous assessment and effective feedback to learners via robust marking of learners work and structured verbal and written feedback showing what the learners needs to do to improve.

• Inspire, motivate and raise aspirations of your learners through enthusiasm and knowledge, which ensure good attendance and engages with learners at all levels.

• Manage the delivery of your curriculum using a scheme of work and session plan for all sessions. Plan and deliver effective learning programmes for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment.

• Value and promote social and cultural diversity, equality of opportunity and inclusion. Promote British Values and integrate effectively across schemes of work.

• Manage and promote positive learner behaviour in line with company Behaviour and Positive Engagement Policy.

• To complete daily, accurate electronic attendance records and ensure company attendance tracking process is adhered to at all times. Contact learners and take an active role in ensuring learners attend programme.

• To support the curriculum management on curriculum and course development including the writing and sharing of resources, lesson plans against the schemes of work. Working with peers to share best practice and provide developmental support as required.

• To ensure contractual targets and internal business goals are achieved and that awarding body requirements are adhered at all times.

• To provide accurate and timely formative assessment and feedback to learners, and maintain assessment records, including tracking and reporting of learner progress in line with company policy. Ensure that learners keep their own trackers up to date to show progress against their learning plans.

• To contribute to curriculum developments including the embedding of English and maths into the curriculum.
• To ensure that learners wider work related skills are developed at every opportunity by delivering a varied and engaging programmes i.e. external speakers, visits to employers etc.

• To support the IQA process and undertake IQA for relevant subject specialism.

• To provide effective IAG for all learners to support learner progression aspirations.

• Responsible for upholding procedures to Safeguarding learners, reporting appropriately and ensuring Prevent Duty is upheld alongside promotion of fundamental British Values

• Maintain knowledge of new developments in the curriculum, courses and teaching practices and keep course material. To keep abreast of developments within own areas of expertise and to keep course material up to date to reflect the requirements of the business and the examining/validating bodies.

Person Specification

• Teaching Qualification minimum Level 3 - PGCE/Cert Ed - Essential
• GCSE Grade C English OR Math's or FS Level 2 - Essential
• Subject Specialism or degree in relevant subject - Desirable
• Strong commitment to team working - Essential
• Experience of working with 16-18 year olds and/or unemployed Adult learners - Essential
• Experience of delivering Functional Skills up to Level 2 - Desirable
• Knowledge of City and Guilds and Pearson requirements - Desirable
• Experience of roll on roll off delivery - Essential
