Redcar and Cleveland is a place with a proud past and a bright future; an area of great contrasts with world class industries, market towns, visitor destinations, beautiful coastline and stunning countryside. The Council continues to invest in the area to create opportunities for investment and growth using the skills and ingenuity of our people, coupled with bold and ambitious plans, linked to the Tees Valley Combined Authority, and the South Tees Development Corporation.

You will help deliver a £103 million, multi-year, multi-agency capital programme working with a range of partner organisations. You will operate as the Chief Engineer for the authority, providing strategic leadership of the highways function whilst driving forward the operational delivery.

Bringing a strong strategic vision, track record of innovation and commercial awareness, together with substantial experience in a senior level in a relevant area, you’ll find we won’t waste any of your potential.

The council is an accredited Investors in People employer at gold level and holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.

We offer very attractive terms and conditions of employment, including generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working hours (where appropriate), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to numerous other salary sacrifice schemes and staff benefits/discounts, including a lease car scheme.
