Summary:

We need a fantastic junior planner who’s a year or two in, looking to apply what they’ve learned so far at a big, busy, creatively driven agency. They’ll get thrown in at the deep end, directly supporting planning directors in the day-to-day, writing briefs, bringing interesting cultural and creative perspectives to the process.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Writing creative briefs
  • Conducting primary consumer research (potentially including overseas travel)
  • Packaging up market trends for a client and cross-agency audience
  • Supporting the Planning Director(s) with any strategic help they may require
  • Supporting other accounts / planners from time to time on special projects, pitches, etc
  • Bringing interesting information and perspectives to the department and Creative teams
  • Assisting with writing effectiveness case studies

Required Experience:

  • We are looking for someone with a rare combination of strategic nous and creative flair – someone who will be as comfortable talking (and even generating) creative ideas as they are contributing to innovation and commercial marketing strategy. The successful candidate will have:

  • Hands-on Planning/ Strategy experience of at least 1 year at a strategic-led creative agency, including the following specific experience:
    • Writing briefs
    • Finding, and packaging up, competitive/category/trend commentary in a client-friendly format
    • Qualitative research
  • Agency experience on a major account, rather than working on lots of small projects
  • Experience within an agency or ideally a client company working within food and/or beauty categories
  • Basic Planning skills: numeracy, writing and research
  • Experience supporting Senior Planners on shaping strategy
  • A good working knowledge of marketing, including its commercial side – evidenced by study or training course attendance
  • A demonstrable interest and experience in impacting and shaping popular culture (e.g. through personal ventures or social media presence)
  • A keen creative and aesthetic eye
  • Experience working in an overseas market is desirable

Candidates will be expected to present some of their own work in interview.
