Summary:
We need a fantastic junior planner who’s a year or two in, looking to apply what they’ve learned so far at a big, busy, creatively driven agency. They’ll get thrown in at the deep end, directly supporting planning directors in the day-to-day, writing briefs, bringing interesting cultural and creative perspectives to the process.
Role and responsibilities:
- Writing creative briefs
- Conducting primary consumer research (potentially including overseas travel)
- Packaging up market trends for a client and cross-agency audience
- Supporting the Planning Director(s) with any strategic help they may require
- Supporting other accounts / planners from time to time on special projects, pitches, etc
- Bringing interesting information and perspectives to the department and Creative teams
- Assisting with writing effectiveness case studies
Required Experience:

We are looking for someone with a rare combination of strategic nous and creative flair – someone who will be as comfortable talking (and even generating) creative ideas as they are contributing to innovation and commercial marketing strategy. The successful candidate will have:
- Hands-on Planning/ Strategy experience of at least 1 year at a strategic-led creative agency, including the following specific experience:
- Writing briefs
- Finding, and packaging up, competitive/category/trend commentary in a client-friendly format
- Qualitative research
- Agency experience on a major account, rather than working on lots of small projects
- Experience within an agency or ideally a client company working within food and/or beauty categories
- Basic Planning skills: numeracy, writing and research
- Experience supporting Senior Planners on shaping strategy
- A good working knowledge of marketing, including its commercial side – evidenced by study or training course attendance
- A demonstrable interest and experience in impacting and shaping popular culture (e.g. through personal ventures or social media presence)
- A keen creative and aesthetic eye
- Experience working in an overseas market is desirable
