Qualified Senior Accountant (Practice Manager)

The company is an accountancy practice established for over 20 years and operating in a niche market. Due to continued growth, they are in a position to recruit a full time senior accountant. The company is a typical practice in our mix of bookkeeping, accounts, tax returns and payroll. They also undertake a number of outsourced bookkeeping assignments.

They are looking for a full time qualified accountant (MAAT, ACCA. ICAEW) with experience from public practice, to take up a senior role in a small friendly practice of 10 staff.

The main responsibility of this role is to ensure the timely completion of year end accounts for SME’s and sole-traders, personal tax returns, and ensure the smooth running of the practice.

The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced and friendly team of bookkeepers. They are a forward thinking, dynamic and growing practice and welcome applicants that share our values and drive.  This opening within our practice represents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to grow this role as their knowledge and experience develops.

The role requires someone with an eye for detail and accuracy with figures. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner and be able to prioritise their own workload and work unsupervised. The candidate will be able to schedule their workload to meet the usual accounting deadlines. The nature of the work requires the candidate to be able adhere to, and update defined procedures and deliver a consistent standard of work.

As part of the role, you will manage the day to day accounting functions of the office and oversee the quality of work output from the team.

Salary £32k-£37k (inc. of profit related bonus)

Plus currently employer pension contribution of 2%

Hours : 37.5hrs per week

Holidays 28 days per annum (inc BH’s)
