The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is comprised of 18 local authorities and four Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) working together to move powers from Whitehall to the West Midlands and our locally elected politicians, who know this region best. Individual councils will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together

West Midlands Rail (WMR) is the locally accountable body responsible for overseeing the delivery and development of local rail services across the West Midlands region. WMR works with the rail industry and central and local government partners, and acts on behalf of Transport for West Midlands in the delivery of its rail objectives.

The West Midlands Stations Alliance Manager will be responsible for managing the new, innovative West Midlands Stations Alliance (WMSA), building strong relationships between the partners, keeping the programme on track, and developing funding streams to support project delivery. The WMSA is a formal partnership between WMR, Network Rail and the franchise operator, West Midlands Trains. The WMSA also brings in local authority and other partners.

In order to achieve this outcome, the successful applicant will be able to oversee and facilitate the effect administration of all levels of WMSA governance, maintain the WMSA risk register and programme, Lead commercial negotiations with consultants and contractors, overseeing the continued development of the WMSA Business Plan and work closely with TOCs and Network Rail to ensure opportunities for collaborative efficiencies are maximised.
