First Line Support Technician - Cloud Backup Leader - £18-21k, Orpington Kent

Due to unprecedented growth, a leading provider of cloud backup services is looking to expand their highly motivated support team. An exciting position has arisen for a talented First Line Support Technician. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in IT support and a willingness to investigate and learn on the job.

They will also be driven to exceed customer expectations and maintain good relationships. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be friendly yet professional.

As essential part of the role is the ability to be able to discuss and diagnose technical issues with both IT professionals and not-technical business owners.

Experience in some/all of the following is required:

  • Windows Servers
  • SQL Server
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Support ticket systems
  • Linux
  • Mac OS’s

The following would be highly desirable:

  • Formal qualifications in IT
  • Any knowledge or experience in backup solutions, especially Ahsay and Storage Craft.

Our client has a vast amount of experience in broad IT, data backup and cloud services. Gaps in experience can be bridged quickly for the right candidate.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will join their First line support team, reporting to the Technical Support Manager. The role involves:

  • Responding to support calls, tickets and online chat.
  • Regular access to customer servers in order to configure, diagnose and fix problems.
  • Management of support tickets.
  • Taking complete responsibility for tickets and specific problems.
  • Interacting and collaborating with other team members.
  • Monitoring backup logs and proactively offering support.
  • Contributing to our internal and external knowledge bases.
