Lecturer. Part Time 22.2 hours per week. Permanent.
We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 20,000 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Adult Science and Humanities team. The team is responsible for delivering full time adult GCSE resit programmes and Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diplomas to adult learners.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic lecturer who can deliver high quality teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of our learners in GCSE Psychology and Level 3 Psychology for Access to HE learners.
With relevant and recent experience of the new GCSE specifications and educated to Level 3 or equivalent in Psychology or a related subject, you will have teaching experience and a good track record of success in GCSE delivery.
You will hold a recognised teaching qualification, or be working towards one and also hold a Level 2 minimum in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).
The ability to develop group profiles to meet individual learner needs and deliver innovative lessons which motivate and enthuse learners who may have previously struggled with GCSEs and/or are returning to education after a break is essential. You will create interesting and engaging resources that help contextualise the subject and facilitate learning. You will routinely monitor learner progress, setting individualised targets to ensure learners are developing their knowledge and skills.
You will have a flexible attitude to working as some evening and non-term time teaching may be required. The ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and timely completion of course-related paperwork is also essential.
