DESCRIPTION

The company seeks Project Leaders to undertake a complex and broad scope of responsibilities. Based in London, the post-holders will be responsible for managing project teams comprised of Consultants and Associates  who design and develop innovative long-term business strategies for client corporations that maximise the return on the investment of shareholders.  Project Leaders are responsible for advising clients on key strategic business issues, producing leading-edge business models, and addressing specific problems and opportunities.  

More specifically, the Project Leader directs studies to define client needs or problems and supervises research activities to obtain relevant data.  A Project Leader oversees the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation and the advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data.  S/he also oversees the analysis of data and the application of knowledge of business principles and industrial organization to the development of feasible recommendations for the profitable growth of client companies, together with strategic due diligence, product development studies, the development of change management plans and the evaluation of long term investment opportunities.

The duties of the position require that the Project Leader apply knowledge of advanced and complex principles of financial analysis, business methodology and managerial thought. 

Applicants must have achievements gained through a substantial tenure of employment within the last 3 years with either a world leading global management consultancy practice or a large blue chip organisation, demonstrating successful leadership, valuable contribution to a team including leading a team, mentoring skills, personal learning, and exceptional drive and commitment.  Applicants must display evidence of expertise and significant experience within a functional and/or industrial practice area, in which BCG London has a presence.   In addition, applicants must have relevant experience of devising and implementing business strategies involving quantitative analysis, conceptualisation and communication of strategic solutions.    Applicants must have the ability to synthesise a problem and possess creativity and strong business judgement. Applicants must also demonstrate excellent high-level numerical skills, excellent and precise communication skills, and have experience of developing long-lasting client relationships.

Accordingly, the Project Leader must have an excellent academic record and must have achieved a First/2:1 from a well respected university or an MBA from a top business school. The Project Leader must also have experience as a management consultant or as a quantitative or business analyst.

As part of the interview process, applicants will be required to conduct case studies to demonstrate their suitability for the role as outlined above. Applicants will need to perform to a high standard in the case study.
