About Us

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) is a not-for-profit, registered charity working for the public benefit through an international network of branches. CIArb supports the global promotion, facilitation and development of all forms of private dispute resolution. It has a global membership in excess of 15,000 individuals who have professional training or experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

Your Key Responsibilities:

Strategic and Management:

- Provide frontline services to members on all matters relating to applications and supporting CIArb's network of 39 branches.
- Ensure the day to day operational functions of membership acquisition and progression are undertaken effectively and efficiently.
- Provide an excellent service to both internal and external customers.

Membership Acquisition and Progression:

- To process applications for membership on the basis of recognised qualifications and experience.
- To answer general membership enquiries in the member services inbox advising on routes into membership and membership progression.
- Answer telephone membership calls.
- Assist on the membership stand at CIArb events to provide information and offer assistance.
- Assist with Peer and Panel interviews as required
- Responsible for general team administration tasks, including; printing confirmation letters and certificates, updating member's details in the database, processing resignations, membership mailing (email campaigns), arranging scanned documents to be sent to Pinpoint and end of day finance reports to be reconciled by Finance department.
- To send promotional materials to branches when required.

Stakeholder Management:

- Develop friendly, positive and supportive relationships with members and provide them with excellent service.
- Deal efficiently with telephone, email and letter correspondence, ensuring that action is taken by the relevant member of staff and that anyone contacting CIArb feels that their query

General:

- Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the line manager.
- Work in such a way as to minimise the risks to the information technology environment safely, securely and confidently.
- Have regard for your own actions and those of others in the interests of safety.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge:

- Knowledge or experience of ADR.
- Microsoft packages - Word, Excel. Use of email via Outlook. Use of Internet.

Background & Experience:

- Experience of working for a Chartered Institute, professional body, trade association or membership organization is a big plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Use of Microsoft packages Word, Excel and use of email via Outlook.
- Experience of inputting information into CRM database.

Qualifications:

- Educated to A-level or equivalent.
