Due to the promotion of our current Headteacher to a senior position in the Local Authority, the Management Committee at Oakfield Short Stay School are looking appoint an outstanding Headteacher. Judged "Good" by Ofsted in September 2017, Oakfield Short Stay School is the pupil referral unit for Leicestershire. We have up to 30 children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issue in 3 classes of 10 children. In addition the school works in the schools of Leicestershire to prevent exclusion, build capacity within mainstream schools, and to support reintegration.
As well as being the Headteacher, your role will involve working closely with the Local Authority and with Leicestershire Schools to ensure our children have opportunities to thrive. You will work with schools to decide which children need to come into Oakfield and which are better served being supported within mainstream settings. Similarly you will be part of a team which decides when children are ready to return to mainstream school and which support is needed to make this reintegration succeed.
