HARDWARE TECHNICIAN - GBP30K - HAMPSHIRE - PERMANENT
My client is a cutting-edge designer and manufacturer of technology the Aerospace industry, due to continued strong growth they are looking for an Engineer to the Hardware design team on a permanent basis.
Job Responsibilities:
• Compile written procedures to test and fault find electronic assemblies/products
• Perform testing and prepare reports as required
• Prepare sample products for design and qualification testing, including fixtures and cables
• Construct and test prototype designs and special-to-type test rigs
• Compile and follow written procedures to test and fault find electronic assemblies/products
• Build and rework breadboards, printed circuit boards and wiring looms and assemble mechanical assemblies
• Assemble, modify and repair customer equipment within scope of own training and certification
• Organise the storage, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and component as necessary, maintaining records
• To liaise with and provide assistance to all departments, customers, suppliers, consultants and authorities as required
• To carry out other duties as may reasonably be required by the Head of Technology
Skills & Experience:
• Compile and follow written procedures to test and fault find electronic assemblies/products
• Prepare sample products for design and qualification testing; including fixtures and cables
• Construct and test prototype designs and special-to-type test rigs
• Sound knowledge of electronic test principles and practices gained from hands on experience
• Ability to build and rework breadboards, printed circuit boards and wiring looms and to assemble mechanical assemblies
• Interpret technical data (drawings, technical publications and circuit diagrams)
• Able to solder to required standards (IPC A-610 or equivalent)
• Able to organise the storage, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and components as necessary, maintaining records.
• Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
• Self-motivated, able to work to deadlines and focused on achieving goals
• Able to work effectively within a team and take responsibility for own work
• Structured approach to problem solving
• Extensive experience of Microsoft Office tools (Excel and Word)
• Comfortable working to engineers verbal instructions in a development environment
• Understands the principals of continuous improvement and applies them in the workplace
• OND/ONC or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline
