As the Commercial Underwriter, you will be working for a a market-leader of the global Insurance market, working on the renewals side in a newly formed team that focuses exclusively on underwriting Commercial Property & Casualty lines of business. You will ensure the provision of a quality support service to key intermediaries and customers which exceeds intermediary and customer expectations, whilst ensuring a profitable out-turn of the Company's portfolio of business.

Key Responsibilities:

* In liaison with the Regional Manager, you will prepare quotations, letters, memoranda, more complex documentation and policy drafts as may be required and consider more complex amendments to existing policies and calculate the premiums by reference to rating and underwriting schedules therein, so that work is completed efficiently.
* Make a positive input to the efficient working of the team to ensure that the workload remains under control and targets can be achieved.
* Use own skills and knowledge to provide guidance to team members on a day-today basis on practical problems and to ensure the accuracy and maintenance of data input.
* Suggest policy wording for special and/or complex clauses.
* Work in a spirit of co-operation with other team members so as to fully optimise the use of resources.
* Work flexibly within a team carrying out a wide range of tasks, assisting colleagues wherever pressure is greatest, in a manner that enables the Company to ensure that a high level of customer service is delivered.
* Undertake other duties as directed within the level of the job function.

Required Experience

* Knowledge of Commercial Property & Casualty lines
* Thorough experience of process management.
* Sound level of technical/product knowledge and a desire to develop this.
* Ability to understand established systems and processes.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience of working with Customers.
* Ability to prioritise own work and manage workloads.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to draft policy wordings/endorsements.
* Cert CII or substantial progress towards is preferred.
