Marketing Manager

Based within their Head office in Leicester.

The Role:

The Marketing Manager works closely with the Director of Customer Engagement to facilitate the development of marketing strategies and plans for the business. Accountable for managing the development and implementation of processes, tools, metrics, initiatives and infrastructure that will support and improve the operations and success of the Marketing function. Responsible for co-ordinating, collating and communicating market and customer insight from the business and third parties.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with vendors and internal departments to understand the marketplace and competitors, ensuring that changes and key information is communicated appropriately.
• Work closely with the Customer Insight teams to interpret and communicate relevant customer specific data from across the business.
• Actively participate in Customer Insight forums and facilitation of associated workshops
• Benchmark the organisation's current marketing activities, performance and investment against industry best practices, and through gap analysis, develop a roadmap for improvements and business case for undertaking necessary changes.
• As appropriate and with the buy-in of the Marketing leadership team, identifies, recommends and leads the implementation of these opportunities, including directing cross-functional implementation teams, in an effort to increase overall effectiveness of the marketing organisation.
• Work closely with the Director of Customer Engagement to ensure mid/major marketing is aligned with other functions (includes connecting, communicating, and staying in tune with these groups, establishing a knowledge base of information and sharing insights with marketing leadership).
• Identification and implementation of improvement opportunities.
• Keep marketing management informed of progress by preparing reports and presentations; interpreting information and making recommendations.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related activities as needed, including management of regional marketing campaigns.
• Development of a marketing governance process to ensure consistent messaging and adherence to brand standards.
• Design the operational and administrative activities and processes for the marketing team, including adex monitoring and tracking
• Provide project management support to key marketing and customer insight projects
• Work with the Business Improvement Office to coordinate information and requirements; participating and providing resources to marketing improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will:

• Degree educated (strong level of Marketing knowledge in a business to business environment).
• Strategic thinking with tactical delivery abilities and good data interpretation/analytical skills.
• Commercially minded with a strong level of business acumen.
• Strong networking skills with the ability to motivate and work within cross functional matrix teams.
• A business level of fluency in English verbal and written communication skills (Dutch and German languages advantageous but not essential).
• Confident multi-tasker, able to prioritise and plan effectively and maintain composure in challenging situations.
• Excellent presentation skills, Innovate and creative.
• Project management skills (MS Project / Prince certified advantageous).
