Your new role
Reporting to Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for maintaining all control and instrumentation of capital plant and equipment across the site. You will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance activities and small projects as and when required. Occasional installation of new equipment and compliance with statutory legislation and internal policy will also be part of your remit. You will deliver and support continuous improvement activities too. You main duties will include:

* Developing new control systems;
* Maintaining and modifying existing systems across all businesses
* Managing small projects through to completion
* Working collaboratively with Engineering, Continuous Improvement engineers, purchasers and other internal staff;
* Liaising with clients, suppliers and contractors;
* Project management within cost and time constrained environments;
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving;
* Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards of the business;
* Providing advice and consultancy support;
* Purchasing equipment;
* Working on computer software for drives /controls, PLC's & where appropriate utilising third party developers;
* Developing new proposals through continuous improvement activities;
* Working across multiple sites as and when requested to support business needs;
* Accepting responsibility and a level of accountability commensurate with the seniority of the position;

What you'll need to succeed
You will possess a relevant electrical engineering qualification with relevant experience. Your technical appreciation of electrical engineering and manufacturing processes and equipment would also be advantageous. You will have good verbal and written communication skills and good numerical and literacy skills. You will also be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office. Your experience/knowledge on fault diagnosis with PLC's (Programmable logic controllers) is crucial to your success in this job. You will possess a good understanding of production plant/equipment and be willing to learn any new equipment that is brought into the production area or developed on the production unit.
You will have a high level of commitment to ensure that results are achieved and targets met with a willingness to learn in areas that you do not fully understand. You will be a respected team member as well as working on your own initiative with the ability to communicate at all levels within the company. You will also be reliable, flexible, and, have good timekeeping and attendance.
