Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Building Compliance Surveyor on a 6 month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work with our established utilities client in Warrington
The purpose of this role is to;
- To deliver a programme of Fire, Asbestos and Legionella re-inspection surveys and undertake identified Legionella routine maintenance activities to enable statutory compliance with applicable legislation.
- To carry out ad-hoc fire risk assessments on Utilities assets, write reports and make suitable recommendations regarding remedial action where necessary
- Carry out ad-hoc compliance asbestos and legionella sampling and interpret analysis reports for communication to relevant stakeholders
- Create and deliver emergency short term reactive (make safe) solutions and long term remedial action plans.
- To maintain the data relating to all building compliance surveys, re-inspections and other documentation held on H&S Sharepoint Records Library.
- To maintain any equipment including personal protective equipment (PPE) and Respiratory Protective equipment (RPE) that may be used as part of the surveying and sampling process.
Accountabilities
- Planning and undertaking a set number of compliance surveys and maintenance activities as scheduled on a monthly basis on a large portfolio of building assets across the whole footprint
- Prepare reports, inspection records and recommend remedial works to ensure H&S compliance with current regulations
- Define and scope remediation solutions that are specific to the operational sites and their uses
- Accurately maintain all compliance registers for assets in a timely manner
- To develop and supervise other team members when undertaking fire risk assessments
- To support the Building Compliance Manager in achieving statutory compliance on the clients Utilities assets
Knowledge and Skills
Minimum requirements:
- Must hold the NEBOSH Fire Certificate or NEBOSH Fire Conversion and hold professional membership with a recognised body such as IFSM/IFPO/IFE.
- Must have a thorough understanding of PAS7 and PAS 79 and a minimum of 3 years previous experience of undertaking fire risk assessments on a wide range of properties, water & wastewater utilities experience would be an advantage.
- Must have a current P402 Asbestos certificate or the equivalent qualification and previous experience of undertaking asbestos re-inspections and asbestos sampling, water & wastewater utilities experience would be an advantage.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.
- To be flexible and have strong organisational skills to be able to plan and deliver your own work to achieve set targets and have a customer focussed approach when arranging site access to meet the need of the customer
- Must hold a full UK driving license
