RETOUCHER
The Company
Our client is an international arts services business working with leading artists and estates across publishing, print-making, digital, film and art research. They focus on the individual artist and their work, offering art services including printing and reproduction, digital management, events, mounting, logistics and fine art photography.
Our Client work with artists, institutions and estates to produce high quality, limited edition reproductions of artworks. We work with a range of mediums, including sealed or Diasec-mounted Giclée prints, metallic and non-metallic chromogenic prints, large-format jacquard-woven tapestries and stained glass. Our editions are available through select institutions, including the Serpentine Galleries in London and the Foundation Beyeler in Switzerland.
Role Summary
The ideal Retoucher candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ commercial experience preferably in the Fine Art sector. The position involves working in a small team which transforms raw imagery of artworks into stunning reproductions or artist’s editions.
Key responsibilities and deliverables of the Retoucher
- Retouching high-resolution imagery of artworks
- Comply with colour management workflows
- File handling, versioning and archiving
- Liaising with photographers
Person Specification
ESSENTIAL:
- An eye for detail
- Excellent photoshop skills
- In-depth experience retouching artworks to the highest standards – e.g. from removal of dust and reflexes to digital art restoration
- Excellent image manipulation skills and knowledge of colour management
- Strong problem solving and time management skills
- Self-motivated and pro-active
- Able to work in a team
- Able to work under pressure
DESIRABLE:
- Experience processing files via Adobe Lightroom and Capture One
- Experience with stitching software
- Experience with fine art printing processes
- Experience with photography
Hours of work for a Retoucher with our client: Monday-Friday 9am-6pm
