Diocesan Financial Controller
Hove
The Diocese of Arundel & Brighton covers the city of Brighton & Hove, the counties of East and West Sussex, and Surrey outside the London boroughs. We have 85 parishes and 65 schools serving our Catholic community. The Diocesan Trust is a substantial charity with approximately 300 employees (excluding clergy).
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Financial Controller line manages three staff in the Diocesan Finance Office in Hove and takes responsibility for the day to day smooth running of the Diocesan Finance Office.
S/he is responsible for preparation of the Diocesan statutory accounts; monitoring budgetary controls; banking and investments and payroll (via an outsourced bureau). The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with at least five years' post qualified experience.
Running a busy Finance Office, the post holder will have excellent communication and organisational skills with a high level of numeracy and ability in IT applications. A calm, efficient approach to a demanding workload is essential.
This is a full-time role based in the Diocese's administrative office in Hove and remuneration will be competitive.
