Family Worker

Family Worker - £23,500 per annum – South West London – Full Time, Permanent.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Family Worker to join their team at HMP Wandsworth

You will be responsible for coordinating and developing family/carer work with an emphasis on both supporting families/carers to identify and provide for their own needs as well as those of the service user.

This is a unique role as you will be offering Family Worker interventions and coordinate Peer Support. Working closely with the prison, local agencies, self-help groups and peer mentoring services, you will be responsible in providing pathways for clients and families to increase their engagement in family life, improve their health and well-being and reduce re-offending.

To take up this exciting opportunity you will be in possession of, or be working towards a recognised qualification in a related field (counselling, health & social care, nursing etc.) as well as experience or good knowledge of the criminal justice system and/or working with families.

You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, experience of liaising with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to set and stick to professional boundaries.
