We are advertising for a company who are the social enterprise that empowers people to break the cycle of crime or addiction to move forward with their lives. For more than 25 years they have been working with people to build positive and productive lives, whatever their past. They believe that anyone is capable of lasting change. Their services have supported thousands of people to make positive changes and build productive lives with a job, family, friends and a sense of community.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Family Worker to join their team at HMP Wandsworth

You will be responsible for coordinating and developing family/carer work with an emphasis on both supporting families/carers to identify and provide for their own needs as well as those of the service user.

This is a unique role as you will be offering Family Worker interventions and coordinate Peer Support. Working closely with the prison, local agencies, self-help groups and peer mentoring services, you will be responsible in providing pathways for clients and families to increase their engagement in family life, improve their health and well-being and reduce re-offending.

To take up this exciting opportunity you will be in possession of, or be working towards a recognised qualification in a related field (counselling, health & social care, nursing etc.) as well as experience or good knowledge of the criminal justice system and/or working with families.

You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, experience of liaising with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to set and stick to professional boundaries.

Our client offers an excellent benefits package including work-related clinical supervision allowance, healthcare coverage, competitive annual leave entitlements and a contributory pension scheme. They also support their employees to achieve both professional and personal development.

They are committed to equality of opportunity for employees and eligible applicants. They will judge you on your abilities and skills and nothing else and are committed to enhancing the diverse profile of their organisation to reflect the communities within which they work.
