NEIFCA is responsible for the conservation and management of marine resources between the river Tyne and the North East Lincolnshire coast and out to the six-mile limit. We seek a First Mate/Fishery Officer to support seagoing operations as part of a closely knit team involved in the day-to-day management and operation of a ‘state of the art’ fisheries/patrol vessel.
Working under the direction of the Skipper and Deputy Chief Officer you will form an essential part of the crew assisting in the safe navigation and operation of a 26m fisheries vessel, including acting as coxswain on a smaller 6.4m RIB when required. Additional duties involve deputising for the skipper, including taking command of the vessel and managing all aspects of the offshore operational activity for the Authority. You should also have extensive command/watch keeping and deck work experience of fishing vessels or workboats.
The Authority is pursuing a policy of Equal Opportunities in Employment.
