HSEQ Manager / Health and Safety / Quality / Manufacturing / Engineering
Fort William Commutable from Glencoe, Perth, Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow
Salary £55,000 to £60,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus Scheme
Our client owns and operates the only remaining aluminium smelter in the UK. Based at Fort William in the Scottish Highlands since 1929, the smelting facilities are powered by a combination of renewable energy sources which makes the site one of the greenest metal production plants in the country.
In addition to serving the international market with semi-finished aluminium, they are investing £120m to upgrade the smelter and add value through the development of downstream manufacturing on site. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and countless outdoor activities on its doorstep, coupled by ongoing investment in the site and surrounding areas, this is an ideal time to join the company.
Our client currently has an opportunity for an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead the implementation of HSE improvement initiatives, taking responsibility for the HSE team and HSEQ standards at the Aluminium Smelter and Hydro scheme. You will also provide support to the development of the Wheel Plant where necessary.
Your key responsibilities will include ensuring materials meet specification, helping to manage and streamline the quality management system. You will advise on the application of industry standards and the draft, review and production of the COMAH Regulations Safety Report for the site, ensuring compliance to UK legislation. You will review, update and implement management system changes, manage site risk and assessment processes, implementing an internal and external audit programme and will develop Quality Plans in order to meet stakeholder, contractual and regulatory needs.
They are looking for someone with strong HSEQ management experience, with a high level of understanding of HSE legislation and Quality Management systems. The successful candidate will have knowledge of incident investigations, with experience of working within a similar manufacturing environment or heavy industry, ideally with a NEBOSH/ Diploma or Degree level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. It is also essential that you are fully conversant in ISO standards and have experience of operating within a GMP environment.
In return you’ll receive a competitive salary, a good pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement and the opportunity to be a part of a friendly and supportive team.
